    Porto

The History of Port Wine is closely linked to the emblematic city of Porto. This is the land where the fantastic Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean and decades ago, this was the only capable place to export the Port Wine to the world. Traditionally, the wine was taken downriver in flat-bottom boats called “Rabelo Boats”, to be processed and stored at the Port Wine Cellars. For this reason, a tour through the wines of Portugal must include a guided visit to this 2nd largest city in Portugal and here you can still taste the wine in their barrel-filled warehouses.
