Departure: 09h00 a.m. After a great breakfast in the Hotel, we will pick you up there for a remarkable half-day tour through Lisbon, the Capital of Portugal. Lisbon is considered the “city of light”, due to its almost 9 hours of sunshine per day, and it was built on seven hills, overlooking the ocean. This charming city is an eclectic mixture of ancient and modern, with a vast natural amphitheater and famous for its curvy, steep and winding streets, vintage yellow trams and quaint houses with ochre-orange rooftops.
On our tour through Lisbon, we will discover its most important sites and monuments: the historic district of Belém, near the Torre de Belém, the Monument of the Discoveries and the Church of the Jeronimos Monastery, the most stunning example of Manueline art. This place is an ode to the golden age of Portuguese Discoveries and a place of pride, History, revolution and power. We will also explore the main squares, as well as the Castle of St. George and the picturesque Alfama district, with an enchanting maze of narrow streets, ancient houses and shops. This tour also includes a visit to National Coach Museum, which hosts one of the richest collection of carriages in the world (on Mondays, this visit and the entrance at Jeronimos Monastery will be replaced by Ajuda National Palace). Drop-off at your Hotel and free remaining day. Accommodation in Lisbon.
