Today, our driver/guide will pick you up at your Hotel and will drive to the Northern Portugal. In this private journey, you will discover the Minho Region, where the green fields and mountains are a constant presence. A scenic and bucolic region, famous for its Nature, its young bubbly “green wine”, its cultural heritage and its filigree jewelry.
We suggest Guimarães as our first stop. Considered the birthplace of Portugal (home of our first king D. Afonso Henriques), this city is a UNESCO site and has a harmonious and well-preserved heritage, evident in the graceful iron and granite balconies, porticos, mansions and arches connecting the narrow streets, paving slabs smoothed by time, towers and cloisters. Here the castle stands out, as well as its medieval streets.
Then we will proceed to Braga, the Portugal’s third-largest city. It is an elegant town, laced with ancient narrow lanes closed to vehicle, strewn with plazas and a splendid array of baroque churches. Stroll through its gorgeous and old streets and discover the majesty of the Cathedral and the Bom Jesus Sanctuary, a holy shrine built on a hill with an incredible ancient baroque staircase plenty of fountains, meditation stops and statuaries.
