Departure: 09h00 a.m. We will pick you up at your Hotel and we will leave Lisbon towards Evora, a charming town surrounded by walls and classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. It is an open-air museum, influenced by Celts and Romans. And the whitewashed houses, arches and twisting alleyways reflect the Moorish presence.
Through this unforgettable trip, we will stroll through the medieval streets of Evora, with many wonderfully preserved monuments and buildings. The Roman Temple will be our first stop. Dedicated to Diana, the goddess of hunting, this famous landmark dates from the 2nd century and it’s one of the Iberian Peninsula’s best preserved Roman monuments. We will also visit the Cathedral, the Saint Francis Church and its exuberant Chapel of Bones (where is established the famous and bizarre phrase “we, bones that are here, for your bones we wait”), and the University with its cloister and tiles. Our tour will end with a visit to one of the most famous Portuguese Wineries with a fantastic wine tasting. Return to Lisbon. End of our services.
