Douro Charming Tour

Departure: 08h00 a.m. Our trip through the Douro Valley will begin with a cruise departing from Vila Nova de Gaia Pier. Today, we will head to the town of Peso da Régua. On board, we will have breakfast alongside the riverbanks of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. During the cruise, we will admire the incredible natural landscapes and two magnificent dams: the Crestuma-Lever Dam (14m rise) and Carrapatelo Dam (35m rise). This last dam is specially superb: it has the largest floodgate in Europe. We will also enjoy a delicious lunch on board.

In the afternoon, we will arrive in Peso da Régua, in the heart of the Douro Valley. Here, our guide will give us a warm welcome and we will visit one of the most famous wineries in the Region, where we will learn more about the wine production, enjoy amazing views and taste the delicious and unique Port Wine. Then, our guide will leave us to our Hotel. Dinner at the Hotel and accommodation in Douro Valley.

Breakfast and departure to the Monastery of São João de Tarouca, with a guided tour. At 11:30 a.m., there will be another tour with sparkling wine tasting. We continue our tour with a transfer to Ucanha. We will then take a break for lunch in a typical restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will begin with a visit to the city of Lamego with our guide to see the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios. Descending the staircase of the Sanctuary is optional. After the visit, we will recharge our batteries with a tasting of the ‘Secrets of Lamego’ (typical delicacies and wines), ending with a stroll along Lamego Avenue.

Dinner will be served at a typical regional restaurant. Transfer to the hotel at the end of the evening.

On the last day of this tour, after breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed exploring the best sites of the Douro Valley. The sublime village of Pinhão will be waiting for us. Here, we will enjoy a lovely small cruise from Pinhão to Romaneira (and return to Pinhão). It’s a 1 hour cruise through inaccessible landscapes by car, and we will navigate in a traditional "Rabelo" Boat (the old and typical boat of the Douro River). After this marvelous journey, we head to a “Quinta” (winery) in the region with our driver.

This winery has incredible gardens we can visit. And after a velvety Muscat of Favaios tasting (with the support and knowledge of its winemakers), we will try an authentic and old lunch from this region: a typical meal cooked in iron pots.

In the afternoon, return to Porto, scheduled for 6pm, at the Vila Nova de Gaia pier. End of our services.
