With pick-up at your hotel, we depart from Porto and head towards the charming Minho region, the greenest area of Portugal, where nature is a constant presence and where culture and spirituality are deeply rooted.
During this tour we visit the historic city of Braga, one of the oldest and most important religious cities in the world, known for its grand sanctuaries and strong Christian tradition. We begin with a visit to the Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its impressive Baroque staircase and surrounding gardens, symbolizing the sacred path and spiritual elevation.
Next, we head to the center of Braga for a pleasant walking visit, where it is possible to admire the exterior of emblematic monuments such as the former Archiepiscopal Palace, the Arco da Porta Nova, the Santa Bárbara Garden, the Castle Fountain, among others, culminating with a visit to Braga Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in Portugal, which combines several architectural styles and preserves centuries of religious history.
After some free time, during which you may enjoy a delicious lunch (not included), the tour continues to Guimarães, known as the “Birthplace City,” as it was the administrative center of the County of Portugal and the birthplace of D. Afonso Henriques, the first King of Portugal.
The excursion includes a visit to the impressive Guimarães Castle and the opportunity to explore the historic center, also classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the city of Porto and drop-off at your hotel.
