Cross the border between Portugal and Spain to reach the city of Santiago de Compostela, following one of the historic routes that for centuries have led pilgrims there — the famous Camino de Santiago.
We will begin our journey at São Bento Station. These paths, considered a manifestation of Catholic faith and devotion, connect various points across Europe to the Spanish city of Galicia, home to the sanctuary of the Apostle James, located in the stunning Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Upon arrival at the cathedral, you will be greeted by an architectural masterpiece—a blend of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles—representing a landmark not only in Galicia but throughout Spain.
Once you have explored Santiago, it's time to say farewell to Spain and return to Portugal. The next stop is Valença do Minho, an iconic city in northern Portugal, renowned for its unique and celebrated artwork: the Heart of Viana, a piece of Portuguese filigree that is truly a national treasure. You will also discover the impressive Fortress, built to protect the town from Spanish attacks—a striking medieval structure with its towers and double walls designed in the Vauban style. Explore this fascinating fortress before safely returning to Porto, capturing unforgettable moments along the way.
