Portugal is known for its sea and its beaches. Therefore, we present you the 10 best beaches for 2015. From north to south, you should visit them now!

Portugal has such an enviable Atlantic coast… In addition, the mild climate almost all year and the great temperatures in the summer, makes it a popular tourist destination. Therefore, the sea and its beaches are some of the best treasures of Portuguese people.

Today we present you the unmissable beaches for 2015. From north to south, our list has 10 beaches that you should visit this year. Some of them are calm… Some of them are the extreme… But to sum up, we can tell you that they are irresistible!

Discovering the most amazing beaches of Portugal…

The continent of Portugal has an incredible sea coast of 943 km so, of course we have wonderful beaches for your summer vacations. Usually from May/June to October, we will be able to have temperatures around 25ºC.

The European Blue Flag Program started in 1987, integrated on the Environment European Year. This initiative, with the support of the European Commission, has a main gold: protect the sea environment and the coast.

Here is a “picture” of what we had last year of 2014: 298 beaches and 17 marinas and leisure places with Blue Flag.

We present you our Top 10:


1 – Cova Redonda Beach – Lagoa (Algarve)

This beach is highly appreciated for the cliffs and the orange tone, characteristic of Algarve region.

2 – Porto Santo (Madeira Island)

It has 9km of sand and its therapeutics waters are incredible.

3 – Falésia Beach – Albufeira (Algarve)

Again we have the cliffs but the access is a little more difficult. We’re sure you will love it anyway.

4 – Dona Ana Beach – Lagos (Algarve)

With a charming sense, you will experience this incredible and picturesque beach, where you can also discover some caves.

5 – North Beach – Nazaré

In 2011, the world famous surfer Garret McNamara surfed a 30meters wave. So, this beach and the city are now on the map for surfers all over the world.

6 – Guincho Beach – Cascais

One of the most famous beaches of Cascais and Sintra areas, this incredible beach is searched for its natural beauty, between the sea and the mountain.

7 – Troia Beach – Troia (Lisbon area)

Relatively near of Lisbon, we have this beach, which belongs to Setúbal district. It has very good access and warm waters. From Lisbon, you can pick up the ferry to reach this peninsula.

8 – Odeceixe Beach – Aljezur 

To represent Alentejo region, here is one of the best examples of a natural and beautiful beach. To walk around or for aquatic sports, this resort deserves a visit.

9 – Rodanho – Viana do Castelo

Are you looking for a peaceful and natural spot to rest and have some relaxing time? Please include this beach on your map because you will get what you deserve.

10 – Quiaios – Figueira da Foz

With an incredible sand extension, it’s a great place to walk around and get tanned.
